King Henry V
He was the oldest surviving son of King Henry IV, born at Monmouth on 16 December 1387. When he succeeded his father on 20 March 1413, he decided to renew the French war begun by King Edward III, and won the legendary battle at Agincourt on 25 October 1415. After a long campaign in which many towns and villages were burnt, he was recognised as heir and regent of France (excluding the Dauphin, the legitimate heir of the French King). Before he was able to begin his next project, a crusade to Jerusalem, he died near Paris on 31 August 1422.
