Queen Elizabeth I

The second daughter of King Henry VIII (by his second wife Anne Boleyn), she was born at Greenwich Palace on 7 September 1533. At the age of two, her mother was beheaded and she herself was declared illegitimate when her father married Jane Seymour. Her fate twisted more than once, until she finally followed her older sister Queen Mary I in November 1558. Her life, her reputation as "the Virgin Queen" and her long successful reign are legend and too interesting to just tell it within a few lines; please check her biography at the "Official Royal"-website. Queen Elizabeth I died on 24 March 1603.

Her signature didn´t change much in all those years. Here you can see her signature on a document from 1579.
